MAKS The Fox is an orchestral folk pop band from Chicago, IL. This creative collective features a unique combination of guitars, keyboard, viola, cello, bass, and drums. They break away from a more traditional setup and provide their audience with a diverse textural auditory experience. Singer songwriters Kori Simonson (vocals, guitar, keys) and Marlon Aguilar (vocals, guitar) started as a duo in 2012, and it has gradually evolved to it’s current members Rachel Schuldt (cello, bass, backup vocals) and Jarod Facknitz (drums).
Kori & Marlon starting recording songs with Dan Duszynkski (of Gold Motel, Any Kind, & Cross Records) and completed a self titled debut album in 2013. The band began writing more collaboratively on From The Deer Forest and continued to try out the new songs to crowds around Chicago & surrounding cities. (Lincoln Hall, Martyrs, The Whistler, Uncommon Ground, Jerry’s, Rozz Tox, Quenchers, 20+ shows… full list here) . Collaboration with Dan continued with That We Exist, and while the recording took place in Chicago at Marlon Recording… it was mixed at Moon Phase Ranch in Dripping Springs, TX.
That We Exist will be available April 2021 and is heavily influenced by the beauty of Chicago.
